Nottingham GNU/Linux Users Group

Welcome!
Our website at http://lug.org.uk/ has been temporarily put out of action so in the meantime I've created this little page to keep people up to date with what's happening.

As always, the most up to date information is on the mailing list which can be found at...
http://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/nottingham/
...along with almost-up-to-date archives and a means to subscribe.

Events
We have regular social and technical meetings and everyone is welcome to attend. We usually hold our technical talks at The Navigation pub where we have use of the function room with free WiFi access!

Thurs 11/12/2008

A Fluff Special... Near enough to Christmas to consider this the NLUG
Christmas Meal #1 (Or will that be the January meet-up meal for the NLUG
bash?...)
... Thursday the 11th of December,
Laguna Tandoori Indian
Restaurant

43 Mount Street
Nottingham, NG1 6HE
Fantasticly unavailable website at:
http://www.lagunatandoori.co.uk/

7:30 meet at the Salutation (or the Roebuck, whatever.)
8pm for food
Anybody else available and up for this date and/or location?

I'm guessing there's six of us so far and counting. Others? Fluff?

Thu Nov 20th 2008 -- Tech chat at the Navigation
Our usual venue - bring yer good self and what have you! There's free wi-fi
and good beer. 7:30pm or thereabouts. All welcome. Ask the bar staff if you can't spot the geeks!

Thu Oct 16 2008 -- Fix-It night at the Navigation
As Martin L. is busy imploding this week, a few of the rest of us plan to
pop along to the Navigation tomorrow night (around 7:30 or 8ish till
whenever) to engage in an impromptu fix-it/social evening. They do have
power sockets available, so feel free to bring your computing kit along.
(Please leave your particle accelerators and kilowatt amplifiers at home
though, the Nav doesn't need the lights dimming any more than usual.)

http://www.pub-explorer.com/notts/pub/navigationinnnottingham.htm

Some will also be dining at 6:00ish at the Big Wok on Upper Parlaiment
Street--

http://www.bigwok.co.uk/

All are welcome to join at either or both venues, though if anyone wants
to join us at the Big Wok it might be a good idea to let me know so that
we're sure to hijack a large enough table to accomodate you.

Hope to see a few there,

-Stef

I plan to mention a bit about my own program(s) for the operating
theatre, and perhaps some more general stuff too.
