Mailing List and Communication

Our Nottingham LUG mailing list is central to our group and serves as the main method of distributing information about upcoming events, meets and provides a source of support for local (to Nottingham) users to ask questions and gain information. If you want to get involved, or are interested, we really recommend signing-up. Subscription instructions are on the Mailing List Page.

Group Meetings

Social get-togethers are held in Nottingham once month on the first Wednesday of the month starting at 8pm, socials are held at the J. D. Wetherspoons Pub on St. James Street in Nottingham (with an option of Pizza Hut or Wagamarma for food beforehand). Full details, location and maps can be found on the Meetings Page.

Special Thanks to our Supporters...:

In the past we have recieved Sponsorship from Hosteurope, a large internet Hosting firm based in Nottingham since 1997 trading as Webfusion and probably best know for their 123-reg Domain services.

If you, or your company are local and would like to sponsorship a LUG meet--perhaps through providing food, snacks or room-hire for an evening or lending useful equipment such as an overhead data-projector--then please get in contact with Godfrey Nix by email at godfrey@gnix.co.uk.

And finally, the people we support:

The nice people who run www.lug.org.uk provide us with our domain name, web-hosting and principally the bandwidth for our mailing list. They in turn are hosted by the nice people at Planet Online.

Secondly, alot of the people involved with the Nottingham LUG have a fondness for Debian GNU/Linux, the largest (and the best!) non-Commerical GNU/Linux distribution. Please help Debian continue its extreme-quality, for example their T-Shirts (now sold through Linux Emporium) come very well recommended.
