is a power expenditure management daemon for IBM ThinkPad laptop computers.

periodically checks your CPU utilization. If the machine is using
battery power or is charging the battery and
.B apmiser
sees that you are
using a lot of CPU, it switches the machine into full-power mode for as
long as required, then switches back to power-saving mode.
Some users have found that this yields a good combination of performance
and battery longevity.

Use the

option to make apmiser log what it's doing.

should use libsmapidev instead of

to set the
power expenditure level.
