I have seen a problem like this, but this is not vserver related. Since rh7.2 or 3
(not sure), there is a query for IPV6 address. If you are on a close network and
your DNS is complete, including proper reverse lookup, you see this delay
before any connection. If you are connected to the internet, it seems to resolve
immediatly.

Try using an IP number instead of a name. I am still searching to see how to
disable this query or how to make it happy.
