Thanks for the reply.

I have followed the suggestion from last week by Herbert to mount the
nfs on /mnt/nfs and then do a 'mount --bind' to /etc/vservers and
/vservers. This has not made any difference, in that I am still getting
the same error message.

I have also rebuilt the base servers as a Debian Woody machine and that
also has not made any difference.

> cat /etc/exports

[root_at_fs1 root]# cat /etc/exports
/mnt/data/vservers 172.30.0.0/24(rw,no_root_squash,sync)

> and tell us how you are exporting your NFS mounts.

Not sure what you mean by this.
