Hi Folks!

we are slowly approaching the point where a final
stable release (probably 1.4) for 2.4 (Marcelo Tree)
seems in reach ...

this release fixes some minor bugs and completes
the BARRIER support for the 1.3.x branch, which
entirely replaces the 000/IUNLINK barrier used in
the stable releases (see latest exploit ;)

It also tries to improve the network source address
selection by abstracting the process for tcp and
udp (new hope for nfs stuff ?)

the changes:

    * small bugfix in the memory enforcement
    * implementation of vc_task_xid()
    * support for xfs IUNLINK and BARRIER
    * advanced network source selection

you can download an all-in-one patch for 2.4.25-rc1
or the tar archive of the broken out patches.
(2.4.25 patches will be available as soon as the
kernel is released ;)

the 'new' features require new tools, so make sure
to update them ...

enjoy,
Herbert
