i use gentooo 2004.1, util-vserver-0.29.214, legacy method.
i get errors from time time during emerging:
/sbin/depscan.sh: line 1: /proc/cmdline: Permission denied
and sometimes ps fails:
web / # ls /proc/
20365 4750 cmdline devices interrupts kcore locks modules self
swaps tty
20435 4783 cpuinfo execdomains iomem kmsg meminfo mounts
slabinfo sys uptime
20454 4936 crypto filesystems ioports loadavg misc net stat
sysvipc version
web / # ps
Error: /proc must be mounted
To mount /proc at boot you need an /etc/fstab line like:
/proc /proc proc defaults
In the meantime, mount /proc /proc -t proc
web / # ps
PID TTY TIME CMD
20454 pts/1 00:00:00 bash
4939 pts/1 00:00:00 ps
