Hi there,

I'm new to vservers, bu I can already say I like 'em. However, I'm
having trouble setting up vserver quota. I followed the guide at
http://linux-vserver.org/Disk+Limits and added a comment about how to
mount the root file system with tagxid. Bert added a that mounting /
with tagxid is unadvisable -- why?

Anyway, I'm having trouble. Setting quota works fine. Trying to surpass
the quota from within the vserver fails (no space left on device).
Perfect. But if I delete my big testfile, the free space is not
reclaimed!

Here's what I did:
check free space:
Sien / # df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hdv1 2097152 667020 1323636 34% /

fill / to the rim:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/fillmeup bs=1024 count=1323630
1323630+0 records in
1323630+0 records out
1355397120 bytes (1,4 GB) copied, 72,1383 seconds, 18,8 MB/s

check free space again:
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hdv1 2097152 1991944 0 100% /

delete /fillmeup:
Sien / # rm /fillmeup

check free space again:
Sien / # df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hdv1 2097152 1990652 4 100% /

What the .... !?!?
I can reinitialize the quotum for /sien and reproduce the error.
I'm probably missing something here, do I have to use the quota tools?
Wicher.
