Not really sure if thats what you need, but a kind soul on the list once told
me to use fstab.remote to mount remote nfs volumes

fstab.remote has lines similar to /etc/fstab:

#<nfs server>:<path> <vservers mount point path> nfs defaults,rw 0 0

For instance:

#<nfs server>:<path> <vservers mount point> nfs defaults,rw 0 0
10.0.0.1:/some/vol /mnt/remote nfs defaults,rw 0 0
