there are 2 chipset for realtek one is r8168 and another r8169.
one r8168 (RTL8111/8168B) will works fine with modules from realtek but not
r8169 (
RTL-8169 ) was not able to complie r8169 form realtek ( r8168 was comlied
just fine )
and kernel module for r8169 in 2.6.36 is broken. (and possible for 8168 too)
tried on a few boxes run iperf and systems hard freezees.
So after the whole week of tring to sort this problem I revert back to
2.6.35.7.
On one system there was issue with 8168 ( so have to use 2 modules - one
from realtek r8168 and another one from kernel r8169 )
I hope it will be fixed in the next kernel update.
PS. I use r8168 for main link and r8169 for drbd replication.
