As suggested, I have experimented with the kernel and have found that when I
do "yum install kernel", grub.conf is modified correctly, but the centos
will not run on the new version of the kernel, it crashes on startup. I
have the following in grub.conf
title CentOS (2.6.32-220.4.1.el5.vs2.3.0.36.29.6.22.i686)
root (hd0,0)
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.32-220.4.1.el5.vs2.3.0.36.29.6.22.i686 ro
root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00
initrd /initrd-2.6.32-220.4.1.el5.vs2.3.0.36.29.6.22.i686.img
Is there a specific kernel I should use??
