Well, I finally decided on a non-hardened setup, and of course,
everything went well. It appears that you do need a non-hardened (ie.
vanilla) gcc to build VServer stuff nowadays, but it hasn't always been so.
I'm just saying that this information should perhaps be made clearer to
Gentoo users, especially now that we know it for a fact.
