yes, this kernel is broken in many ways, although it
seems that debian started to fix some of the issues ...

note that I would not advise to use that kernel in
production, compared to the 2.6.27.x kernel/patches
it is a horror ...

sidenote: I'm running vs2.3 in production everywhere
